Godzilla Minus One Second Trailer Teases New Monster Threat
Less than a day after the movie panel at New York Comic Con, a second Godzilla Minus Zero trailer arrived. The footage suggests that Godzilla remains only one of several monster threats that humans must face in this anticipated sequel.
The trailer opens with a doctor stating that Noriko had “no business surviving” the events of Godzilla Minus One. It then shows Koichi flying through a supernatural storm that lifts entire houses into the air. People run from the impending danger before the sequence ends with a massive atomic breath attack from Godzilla.
Godzilla is not the sole monster hazard in the film. The trailer description points toward a new threat. While Godzilla attacks feature a blue hue in Godzilla Minus One and in this new footage, other beams striking civilians and destroying a bomb appear in yellow or lightning-like shades.
Who is this mysterious threat in Godzilla Minus Zero?
As Polygon’s review and comments from the filmmakers at New York Comic Con confirm, Ghidorah plays a major role in Godzilla Minus Zero. The three-headed monster debuted in 1964 and stands as one of the most recognizable characters in the Godzilla franchise, having clashed with Godzilla across multiple movies.
Audiences last saw Ghidorah in the 2019 American film Godzilla: King of the Monsters. Japanese filmmaker Takashi Yamazaki is now reinterpreting the character for a post-World War II setting.

Godzilla Minus Zero opens in theaters on Nov. 6.
