Grant Gustin Expresses Interest in Returning to the Flash Role
Grant Gustin has once again stated his desire to return to the role of Barry Allen.
Speaking at the Across the Arrowverse panel during New York Comic-Con, the actor admitted that he would gladly play the Flash again if given the opportunity.
Gustin played the superhero for nine seasons of the television series The Flash, which concluded in 2023. The actor previously shared that he had already spoken with DC Studios co-head James Gunn, but that conversation was not about his return, focusing instead on the new Superman movie:
“We never talked about the Flash. We connected because I’m a huge Superman fan. I’ve loved him since I was a kid, so I’m very interested in the movie and I’m glad David Corenswet got the role.”
There are currently no official plans for Gustin to return in the new DC cinematic universe. DC Studios has not yet introduced a new actor to play the Flash following Ezra Miller, though the studio has confirmed that the character will appear in future projects of the renewed Gods and Monsters universe. Exactly who will play Barry Allen remains unknown.
