Dr. Stone Creators Announce Continuation After Final Season

A farewell event celebrating the conclusion of the anime series turned into an announcement for a new project.

The Dr. Stone anime concluded on June 25, 2026, after four seasons. At the STONE FES. 2026 festival dedicated to the series finale, the creators intended to say goodbye to fans, but instead announced a continuation titled Dr. STONE TERRAFORMING.

The new project will adapt the TERRAFORMING storyline from the 27th volume of the manga, which takes place after the end of the main plot. Alongside the announcement, a trailer featuring newly recorded lines by Senku was revealed, and anime character designer Yuko Iwasa prepared a celebratory illustration.

Manga author Riichiro Inagaki did not miss the chance to joke about the unexpected continuation:

“The Dr. Stone anime has truly reached the final chapter of the original manga. I was deeply moved. And yet somehow… there is still something ahead! This was no lie! After all, the scientific adventures of Senku and the others continued. Actually, this kind of lie is very welcome! You could even say that calling this final event a final event turned out to be a lie as well! So please keep following the scientific adventures of Senku and the others just a little longer. It is incredibly exciting!”

When Dr. STONE TERRAFORMING will be released and in what format the continuation will be presented remains unknown for now.
