Amazon Releases First Trailer for Blade Runner 2099 Series
The Blade Runner 2049 sequel will premiere on November 25 on Prime Video.
A full trailer for the series Blade Runner 2099, starring Michelle Yeoh and Hunter Schafer, was shown at New York Comic-Con. In the half-century since the events of Denis Villeneuve’s film, the world has changed significantly: replicants staged an uprising, humans lost the war and became second-class citizens, and Los Angeles was rebuilt without human participation.
The story follows Cora (Hunter Schafer), who, tired of hiding, assumes her final identity and becomes a blade runner. Together with the replicant Olwen (Michelle Yeoh), who has only days left to live, she sets out to hunt down a fugitive who holds a secret capable of shattering the fragile order in the resurrected Los Angeles.
Silka Luisa, who previously worked on Halo, serves as the showrunner and executive producer of the miniseries. The first two episodes were directed by Shōgun director Jonathan van Tulleken. Ridley Scott and Blade Runner 2049 writer Michael Green also participated in the project as executive producers.
Alongside Yeoh and Schafer, the series stars Dimitri Abold, Lewis Gribben, Katelyn Rose Downey, Daniel Rigby, Johnny Harris, Sheila Atim, Matthew Needham, Tom Burke, and Maurizio Lombardi.
All eight episodes of the series will release simultaneously on November 25, 2026, on Prime Video.
