Masashi Kishimoto Announces New Naruto Manga Continuation with Teaser
New trials await the older heroes of Team 7.
A new manga titled Naruto: Shadow Rising was announced during the “NARUTO: What’s Next?” panel at New York Comic-Con. Masashi Kishimoto, the creator of the original Naruto series, will handle the artwork. Alongside the announcement, organizers revealed a teaser consisting of sketches for the upcoming manga.
The video shows Konoha and the famous monument with the faces of the six Hokage, next to which a seventh is being carved. It then features older members of Team 7: Naruto holding the Hokage hat, Kakashi smirking under his mask, Sasuke standing with a serious expression, and Sakura looking at an infant. The teaser concludes with a clash between Naruto and Sasuke.
Based on the footage, Naruto: Shadow Rising takes place after the events of the original story. Plot details have not yet been disclosed, nor has the chapter count or the start date for publication. More information is promised at Jump Festa 2027, which will run from December 19 to December 20, 2026.
