Ghost of Yotei Blows Up Japan’s Charts, Tops National Sales

Although Sony Interactive Entertainment and Sucker Punch Productions have not published official sales figures, early numbers for Ghost of Yotei have surfaced. We now have a clearer picture of how the title launched in Japan.

Less than a week after release, initial reports offer insight into how Sucker Punch’s game — which was already a pre-order bestseller — is selling.

Japanese magazine Famitsu published its ranking of physical game sales in Japan for the period September 29 — October 5. The week featured several new releases. Leading the chart was Ghost of Yotei with 120,196 copies sold. That placed it well ahead of Super Mario Galaxy + Super Mario Galaxy 2, Final Fantasy Tactics: The Ivalice Chronicles, and Digimon Story: Time Stranger.
