A recent poll indicates users are dissatisfied with the current Retroid Pocket 6 design. They want the left analog stick placed above the D-pad and prefer not to have buttons and speakers located beneath the screen.
Earlier this week Retroid revealed two handhelds: the Pocket 6 and the Pocket G2. Today the developers said they have received a significant amount of negative feedback about one of the models.
Many respondents disliked the placement of the controls and speakers along the bottom of the Pocket 6. Some gamers even said its look recalls the old PlayStation Portable or a compact portable DVD player.
Some players specifically object to the left stick being mounted low and would prefer it swapped with the D-pad. Retroid has already run a poll asking users about a redesign.
According to the survey, 60.3% of respondents want the left stick moved upward, and 68.3% favor the new Pocket 6 design. The device features a 5.5-inch AMOLED display (1920×1080, 120 Hz), a Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 processor, 8 or 12 GB of LPDDR5x RAM, 128 or 256 GB of UFS 3.1 storage, a 6000 mAh battery, Wi‑Fi 7, Bluetooth 5.3 and runs Android 13.
On Retroid’s official website you can already pre-order the Pocket G2, while the Pocket 6 pre-order page is currently disabled. A full price list was posted in an earlier article.
