Gamers Mock Netflix Over GTA VI Post

A recent social media post by Netflix promoting an upcoming Grand Theft Auto VI presentation drew widespread mockery from gamers following a string of unauthorized leaks from an in-development build of the game.

The continuous wave of unofficial GTA VI gameplay leaks has placed the title’s promotional campaign in an awkward position. As legal teams at Take-Two Interactive and Rockstar Games work to track down the hacker distributing new in-game footage, Netflix took to social media to promote GTA VI: An Extended Look, a showcase scheduled to debut on the streaming platform next week.

When Netflix asked followers how many days remained until the official material arrives, the comment section quickly filled with jokes and memes. Players sarcastically pointed out that the community has already received an “extended look” at Vice City on a daily basis over the past week without needing to wait for an official broadcast.

The exchange highlights the contrast between traditional marketing schedules and the fast-moving reality of online leaks. The online banter is unlikely to dampen broader interest in the game, as the polished official footage is expected to attract millions of viewers worldwide.

Rockstar Games is currently aiming to shut down the source of the unauthorized materials and pursue the individual responsible before major plot points or the ending appear online.
