FromSoftware Releases Elden Ring Update With Security Improvements and Bug Fixes
FromSoftware and publisher Bandai Namco Entertainment released update 1.17.2 for Elden Ring in October. The patch is available on PC (Steam), PlayStation 4, Xbox One, PlayStation 5, and Xbox Series X|S.
The update adds no new content. It is a technical patch that fixes several bugs and makes changes to the game’s credits.
One fix resolves a bug that made a character display incorrectly when wearing the Gold Tattoo Chest Armor with the helmet hidden.
The developers also fixed a graphical issue that occurred when using the Repeating Crossbow skill with the weapon in the left hand and Leontiel’s Greatsword in the right.
The developers specifically noted that on PlayStation 5 and PlayStation 4, the update also includes fixes related to network security.

For some Elden Ring fans, the update also turned out to be useful in an unexpected way. One of the most popular comments in the discussion of the patch came from a user going by s0_Ca5H: “That’s how I found out you can hide your helmet in this game.”
