The inaugural closed network test for FromSoftware’s upcoming title, The Duskbloods, encountered immediate turbulence this morning. Widespread infrastructure failures undermined the initial testing window, prompting the developer to cut the session short well before its intended conclusion.

Originally scheduled to run from 3:00 a.m. PT (6:00 a.m. ET) to 7:00 a.m. PT (10:00 a.m. ET), the trial quickly devolved into frustration for selected participants. A significant portion of the player base remained completely stranded at the main menu, barred from entry by persistent authentication and server errors. As the connectivity hurdles mounted, FromSoftware ultimately chose to abort the remainder of the session to focus on necessary backend remedies.

The studio issued an official statement regarding the situation via its social media channels:

“We sincerely apologize for the inconvenience caused to everyone due to the game server issues during the first ‘The Duskbloods’ network test. We are truly sorry for this disruption while you were eagerly waiting, but we must regrettably conclude today’s network test at this time. We will continue working on server improvements, and we will provide further updates regarding future sessions.”

Additional testing sessions are tentatively scheduled to resume tonight at 7:00 p.m. PT / 10:00 p.m. ET, with further windows planned across August 22 and 23. However, it remains uncertain whether these subsequent tests will proceed without adjustments as the team works to stabilize the network architecture.
