The Simpsons-themed season for Fortnite has mostly been a home run—aside from the curious omission of a Matt Groening back bling—and Epic continues to pile on clever additions. The most recent update brings a handful of Springfield-inspired weapons, highlighted by Moe Szyslak’s infamous Five Gun, which first appeared in season 9 of The Simpsons.
In the episode “The Cartridge Family,” Moe welds several firearms together into a single, unwieldy contraption. As he explains on-screen, “And that’s how, with a few minor adjustments, you can turn a regular gun into five guns.” The final result is a hybrid firearm: a shotgun augmented by two pistols, a revolver, and a submachine gun, all triggered by one pull of the trigger thanks to some crafty rigging.
In Fortnite the Five Gun arrives in Epic and Legendary variants and spawns in chests, Mr. Burns mystery boxes, and supply drops. It’s surprisingly effective—but voracious with ammo. Firing it consumes both light rounds and shotgun shells, so stock up before you engage. Despite lacking a scope, its ADS handling is notably accurate, and its rambunctious appearance recalls the dual-wielding Pump and Dump from earlier in Chapter 6—only more chaotic and much more fun to use.
Two other Simpsons-themed additions debuted alongside the Five Gun: the Deodorant Applicator, which fires a laser beam, and the Cobalt Slingshot, a pistol-class weapon that behaves like a bow. Both tools have infinite ammunition but degrade via a durability meter as you use them.
The update also introduced one of Fortnite’s stranger environmental events: literal doughnuts falling from the sky across Springfield. The giant pastries were teased in this week’s The Simpsons Fortnite short, and they show up randomly in storms over the map. If you get clipped by one, it’s as messy as it sounds. There’s also a hint that Homer’s Zero Point shard-powered remote—seen in the short—could someday trigger food-based attacks similar to an Air Strike or Junk Rift once the remote arrives in-game.
The Simpsons-themed Battle Pass, Springfield map, and the rest of the season remain active through Nov. 29, before Chapter 7 launches later in the year.
