Former Escape from Tarkov Lead Game Designer Discusses New Shooter Aiming to Change Modern Games

Nomion Games plans to introduce a new mechanic in Rush is Real.

Nomion Games recently announced that Jean Tyulegenov will take on the role of creative director for the project Rush is Real.

Tyulegenov worked as a game designer on Escape from Tarkov for nearly 9 years. He left Battlestate Games because he wanted to tackle new challenges rather than support an established game. He previously stated:

[Tarkov] is fully formed, and now it awaits only patches—nothing conceptually new can happen there anymore. Simply tackling straightforward and predictable tasks is not for me. My priorities are different now. I want to dedicate my time to ideas that are truly capable of changing the very essence of modern video games.

The idea for Rush is Real belongs to Tyulegenov. The concept was conceived while he was working on Escape from Tarkov. Because he was unable to realize the vision back then, he decided to create a separate project:

As part of this new project, I want to try rebuilding the core player motivation mechanic. Many studios simply copy key mechanics from successful projects and add their own improvements—for example, by making the interface more convenient or getting rid of excessive monotony. In Rush is Real, we want to take a different path: build the game around a completely new mechanic that is not copied from anywhere, and at the same time integrate it into familiar elements such as shooting, the progression system, and so on.

Rush is Real does not yet have a release date or release window. The developers have not yet shown any gameplay footage.
