FF7 Rebirth Officially Expands Gold Saucer with New Queen’s Blood Area

<p>If you spent countless hours lost in the Gold Saucer during <em>Final Fantasy VII Rebirth</em>, you’ll be pleased to hear that the iconic hub is making a comeback in <em>Final Fantasy VII Revelation</em>. However, director Naoki Hamaguchi suggests that while the location returns, its purpose and atmosphere have undergone a significant transformation.</p>

<p>The Gold Saucer has always served as the beating heart of mini-game madness within the franchise. While Hamaguchi remained tight-lipped regarding the specifics of the new challenges awaiting players in <em>Revelation</em>, he did shed light on the area's narrative function. Though it stands apart from the core plot, it will host its own dedicated side-story arc.</p>

<p>“Beyond the array of fresh mini-games arriving at the Gold Saucer, we are introducing a unique narrative thread specific to this location,” Hamaguchi shared with Polygon. “The way this story unfolds is quite compelling. I’m eager to share more, but for now, it’s best left for discovery. While it doesn't intersect with the main campaign, this standalone story adds a completely new layer of depth to the area.”</p>

<p>The Gold Saucer’s evolution in <em>Revelation</em> also mirrors player trends. Given the massive surge in popularity surrounding Queen’s Blood following <em>Rebirth</em>, the development team decided to embrace that meta-obsession within the game world itself.</p>

<p>“The Gold Saucer was previously divided into distinct districts, such as the Wonder Square, which hosted the snowboarding and G-Bike games,” Hamaguchi explained. “In <em>Revelation</em>, the immense enthusiasm for Queen’s Blood has led to a total takeover. That specific area has been entirely repurposed to focus on Queen’s Blood content.”</p>

<p>Rest assured, your favorite classic attractions haven't vanished—they have simply moved. Hamaguchi confirmed that the beloved snowboarding mini-game has been relocated to the Speed Square, ensuring that the fan-favorite challenge remains accessible for veterans and newcomers alike.</p>
