He knows how to ball, she knows Aristotle – but swag surfing they have in common. Taylor Swift‘s first show back on the Eras Tour Thursday (May 9) featured multiple surprises as she debuted several new numbers from The Tortured Poets Department, including what appeared to be a subtle tribute to boyfriend Travis Kelce.
While performing “So High School” for the first time ever at La Defense Arena in Paris, the pop star joined her backup dancers on a set piece designed to look like bleachers (perhaps the ones at Arrowhead Stadium, where Swift was a mainstay during the 2023-24 NFL season to support the tight end). At one point in the choreography, she and the group started swaying left to right with their arms forming wave-like motions — aka swag surfing, a game day dance adopted by Kansas City Chiefs fans.

Posting a clip of Swift doing the dance on TikTok, one fan wrote excitedly, “THE SWAG SURFING.”
“taylor swift swag surfing at the eras tour oh how I love her,” added another Swiftie on X.
“i cannot wait for the day that [Travis] gets to watch taylor sing so highschool to him while swag surfing,” a third person tweeted. “he’s going to be like a kid in a candy shop.”
“So High School” is one of two tracks on the extended anthology version of Tortured Poets Department that fans believe is about Kelce, along with “The Alchemy.” On the latter, she makes references to football games and sings, “Beer sticking to the floor, cheers chanted ’cause they said/ There was no chance trying to be the greatest in the league/ Where’s the trophy? He just comes running over to me.”
The Paris show isn’t the first time Swift has partaken in a round of swag surfing. The singer and Brittany Mahomes — who is married to Kansas City quarterback Patrick Mahomes — enthusiastically did the dance with the rest of Chiefs Kingdom at a game in January, just a few weeks before the team earned its second Super Bowl title in a row in Las Vegas (which Swift was also there for).
