It appears that this time fans will have little to complain about when it comes to content in Paradox Interactive’s game.
The developers of Europa Universalis 5 have published a new dev diary outlining how much content the upcoming grand strategy will include at launch.
The team admitted they may have “gone a bit overboard” adding content. By their count, UE5 1.0 will contain more content at launch than the current Europa Universalis 4 build.
Below are some comparison figures:
· 7,022 events (about 2,000 general, 5,000 DHE — Dynamic Historical Events) —> versus 6,351 in EU4 1.37
· 22 situations —> new
· 33 disasters —> 41 in EU4 1.37; the developers noted that “half are now represented through new systems, such as civil wars.”
· 63 Cabinet Actions —> new
· 434 buildings —> 36 common, 10 unique
· 16 civic values —> 9 in EU3
· 2,534 upgrades —> new
· 20 types of creations, 11 creator types, roughly 250–300 creations at launch —> new
· 267 units (regiments) —> “hard to compare, since they can now be created.”
Europa Universalis 5 is scheduled to launch on November 4, 2025.
