The Benelux Rework Has Arrived
The wait is finally over: the comprehensive Benelux Rework project is here! Our design team has completely reimagined the map for Belgium, the Netherlands, and Luxembourg, rebuilding them from the ground up to offer a far more immersive and detailed environment.
Drivers can look forward to exploring revitalized major cities, including Amsterdam, Groningen, Rotterdam, Brussels, Liège, and Luxembourg City. Each city has been meticulously crafted to capture its unique spirit with authentic landmarks and rich detailing.
We’ve also added brand-new destinations to your routes, such as Antwerp—home to one of Europe’s busiest container ports—and a highly detailed recreation of the DAF Trucks facility in Eindhoven, developed in close collaboration with the DAF team. Additionally, key transit routes like the E40 and A2 motorways have been enhanced to elevate your driving experience.
From the rolling, scenic landscapes of the Belgian Ardennes to the flat, iconic polders and coastal roads of northern Netherlands, this update provides a diverse and authentic glimpse into the region. For more behind-the-scenes insights, check out our dedicated project blogs.
Test Your Limits: Volvo Trucks Experience Center
In collaboration with our partners at Volvo Trucks, we are proud to introduce the Volvo Trucks Experience Center in Gothenburg, Sweden, to the map.
This facility features a professional driving circuit designed to put your skills to the test. With complex bends, technical corners, elevation shifts, and various road surfaces, you can evaluate your truck’s handling, braking, and stability in a controlled environment far beyond standard highway driving.
The center has been modeled at a 1:1 scale with meticulous attention to detail. Please note: as it is located in Sweden, you will need the Scandinavia DLC to access it. Keep an eye out for the entrance near Gothenburg, which is hidden from your initial GPS view! Read more in our announcement blog.
Official Thermo King Integration
We are excited to welcome Thermo King to the game! Their industry-leading trailer refrigeration units now replace all unbranded alternatives in our base game and existing reefer trailers, adding a layer of professional realism to your cargo hauls.
You can now equip various Thermo King models, including the A-360, A-400, A-500, and SLXi series, on your single trailers. Additionally, we have introduced the UT-1400R unit specifically for double-trailer configurations. Get the full scoop here.
New Advisor Widgets: Finances & Damage
We heard your feedback loud and clear. To ensure you have vital information at your fingertips, we’ve introduced new dedicated widgets for vehicle damage and financial tracking within the route advisor.
These widgets provide real-time updates on truck and trailer condition, your current bank balance, and your average profit from the last week. You can easily toggle these in the Widget Settings menu; if enabled, they will appear conveniently above your GPS.
“Tow to Road” Feature
To improve your quality of life during long hauls, we’ve added the “Tow to Road” feature. If your truck happens to flip or get stranded in rough terrain, you can use this option (found in the Service menu, default key F7) to be teleported to the nearest safe road segment for a small fee, keeping your convoy moving without major delays.
Refined User Experience
- Skills Menu Overhaul: The Skill Screen has received a visual update to improve clarity. You can now easily track your progression path and see future rank requirements through intuitive tooltips and refined layouts.
- General UI/UX Improvements: We’ve refreshed the news banner, made world map navigation smoother for controller users, and added an “undo” pin feature.
- Save Management: Saving is now more consistent with clear “Overwrite” labeling and standardized icons.
- Audio Enhancements: Traffic sounds have been rebalanced to sound more natural and less intrusive, featuring softened engine tones and randomized horn behaviors.
- Detour Maintenance: We have temporarily disabled the Detour feature to focus on stability improvements. Note that random road events will still occur as usual.
