Euro Truck Simulator 2 and ATS to Receive Graphics Upgrades in Patch 1.61

Materials inside certain truck cabins will look more realistic.

The developers of truck driving simulators Euro Truck Simulator 2 and American Truck Simulator continue to tease new features for the upcoming update 1.61, pressing ahead with improvements to various graphical aspects.

This time, SCS Software has showcased enhancements to the material system introduced in update 1.60. The technology is now being expanded to several additional truck models from Euro Truck Simulator 2 and American Truck Simulator. Thanks to the new material system, these vehicles will look more realistic and react to light in different ways:

As a result, cabin interiors become more detailed and visually appealing. Differences between materials such as leather, fabric, plastic, and metal will become much more noticeable even under low lighting.

In Euro Truck Simulator 2, these improvements are being prepared for the Volvo FH Series 6 model.

In American Truck Simulator, the update will affect the cabins of the International LT and International LoneStar. The developers noted that they have also refined a number of interior details and completely reworked the seats to better match their real-world counterparts. In addition, a new Diamond interior option featuring leather seats will be added for both trucks.

The developers have not yet shared when they plan to release update 1.61 for Euro Truck Simulator 2 and American Truck Simulator. Meanwhile, work also continues on expansions featuring new locations, buses, and regular cars for both games.
