Euro Truck Simulator 2 update 1.58 replaced several long-standing interface patterns with a more flexible UI foundation. SCS Software previewed the changes on January 26, 2026 before the public beta, and the stable update followed on February 12.

Contextual hints replace one linear tutorial

The tutorial was reorganised around prompts that appear when relevant. It began with information from the first-job tutorial and added new hints intended to introduce mechanics without forcing experienced drivers through one fixed sequence.

A widget-based Route Advisor

The old single Route Advisor panel was replaced by separate graphical widgets. Drivers can choose a cleaner minimal layout or retain more on-road information. This was the most visible change and required some adjustment for players whose controls and attention patterns were built around the previous panel.

Quick Info moves detail off the road

The pause screen became Quick Info, grouping controls, truck data, job details and local regulations. Job information, damage, truck settings and service access moved out of the driving HUD so they remain available without permanently occupying screen space.

Management and configurator refinements

Driver, trailer, truck and garage managers received clearer information and usability fixes. Hired-driver skill progress and selected training became easier to identify, while company name and logo settings became more accessible. The truck and trailer configurators gained clearer navigation, feedback and hints for controller and mouse users.

The article described the design goals before public testing. Feedback during the beta led to further fixes, so the stable 1.58 implementation and later updates are more authoritative than preview screenshots. Update 1.58 moved from preview to open beta and then stable release, with further interface fixes made after the January announcement.
