ETS2 Rhine-Ruhr Rework Adds Depots and Rebuilds Major Junctions
The Rhine-Ruhr overhaul arrived with the free ETS2 1.50 update.
Euro Truck Simulator 2 update 1.50 delivered the rebuilt Rhine-Ruhr region on May 14, 2024. SCS Software reconstructed Dortmund, Cologne, Düsseldorf and Duisburg together with their surrounding roads. The release also added a section of Autobahn 3 between Cologne and Frankfurt.
More industries and delivery depots
SCS previewed the industrial changes in January 2024. Cologne grew from two delivery depots to six, giving the city a broader role in the regional economy. The new and rebuilt sites cover car production, rail freight, scrapyards and river ports.

Düsseldorf Airport became another delivery location. Its in-game surroundings include the airport SkyTrain, adding a recognizable transport feature beside the freight facilities.

Roads and major intersections
The map team rebuilt the regional road network rather than adjusting the previous layout. A central feature is Kreuz Kaiserberg near Duisburg, a complex interchange represented within ETS2’s scale limits. Urban junctions were also redesigned to reflect the variety required by a dense, high-traffic area.

The work tied the four cities into a continuous urban and industrial area. The 1.50 release confirmed that the cities and their surroundings had been rebuilt from the ground up, turning the January preview into a completed map update rather than a future concept.
