Emotions, Survival and an Icy Planet: Aphelion Trailer from the Creators of Life Is Strange
A trailer showcasing gameplay snippets from Aphelion has appeared online. The developers, known for their work on Life is Strange and Tell Me Why, are preparing another emotionally driven narrative.
The story unfolds in 2060. Earth has been devastated, and humanity’s last hope is Persephone — a planet discovered on the outskirts of the Solar System. Two astronauts, Arian and Thomas, are dispatched by the European Space Agency on the Hope 01 mission to determine whether the world can become a new home for humankind. After a catastrophic accident, the crew are separated and must fight to survive on the frozen, hostile surface.
Aphelion is a third-person action-adventure that blends exploration, survival, and human drama. Players will traverse Persephone’s icebound vistas, confronting anomalies and threats that defy the laws of physics. The creators promise stealth mechanics and a constant undercurrent of danger — “you are not alone; something stirs beneath the ice.”
The game equips players with investigative tools — a tethered grappling hook, oxygen canisters, and various scanners to chart and survive the planet. Yet at the heart of the experience is the bond between Arian Moncler and Thomas Cross: their shared history and emotions may prove pivotal to salvation.
Aphelion is slated for release in 2026 on PS5, Xbox Series X|S, and PC, and will be available on Xbox Game Pass from day one.
