Elizabeth Olsen Wants to Play the Scarlet Witch Again, But the Character’s Fate Remains Unknown
Elizabeth Olsen admits she misses her Marvel character.
Elizabeth Olsen revealed she’d be happy to don the Scarlet Witch again. In an interview with InStyle, the actress said she misses the role and would return to the Marvel Cinematic Universe if the chance presented itself.
“It’s wild. We’re grown-ups who act like kids on a playground — we fly, we shoot beams from our hands. I’ve portrayed her for ten years. Taking a break can be healthy, but then I start to miss her and want her back. I’d happily step into that role again.”
Olsen’s most recent live-action appearance as Wanda Maximoff was in Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness (2022), where the character was ostensibly killed. She later provided the voice of the Scarlet Witch for the animated series Marvel Zombies, though she says the session took place so long ago she nearly forgot she’d participated.
Marvel Studios chief Kevin Feige recently stirred fan speculation by saying the studio “would be glad to know when and how the Scarlet Witch might return.” Olsen, however, states she is not involved in the productions titled Avengers: Day of Judgment and Secret Wars, which are slated for release in 2026 and 2027 respectively.
