Dave Bautista Bulks Up to 250 Pounds for Kratos Role in God of War Series
Dave Bautista gains 20 pounds for Kratos role in God of War
Dave Bautista has shared a look at his preparation to play Kratos in Prime Video’s God of War series. In a video posted on social media, the actor wore a T-shirt bearing the game’s logo and showed off his 20-pound gain. Bautista now weighs about 250 pounds, or 113 kilograms.

Bautista landed the role in August, replacing Ryan Hurst, who left the project because of a bicep injury. Media reports said filming was expected to resume in mid-October, effectively restarting production from scratch. To make up for lost time, the team planned to shoot both ordered seasons back-to-back. However, filming has not yet been confirmed to have resumed.
Ronald D. Moore, known for Battlestar Galactica and Outlander, is responsible for the adaptation. The series will bring the Norse saga from God of War (2018) and God of War Ragnarök to the screen. In the first season, Kratos and his son Atreus will set out to fulfill Faye’s last wish: to scatter her ashes from the highest peak. The journey will bring father and son closer but draw them into a conflict with the Norse gods.
A premiere date for God of War has not yet been announced.
