Doom Developer id Software Works More Closely With Wolfenstein Studio MachineGames After Mass Layoffs
DOOM creator id Software is working more closely with MachineGames on projects that began before the mass layoffs at Xbox, according to id Software co-director Marty Stratton.
Speaking at an event dedicated to DOOM: The Dark Ages – Revelations, Stratton said id Software still has the people and technology needed to fully develop games and technology after losing roughly half its staff. He expressed optimism about the studios’ joint work.
We’re working more closely with MachineGames than ever. We’ve always had a very close partnership, but now both teams have talented specialists and engineers. We’re on a really great path that began before the layoffs. We started this work at the beginning of the year and are very pleased with the results. We’re very optimistic about what lies ahead.
