Final Fantasy VII Revelation Will Limit Three-Character Attacks to Dramatic Moments
Three-character combo attacks in Final Fantasy VII Revelation will be reserved for particularly emotional or dramatic moments to keep battles balanced.
Game director Naoki Hamaguchi told PlayStation Access that the attacks will be the most powerful in the combat system. He said that if players could use them at any time, they would rely on them constantly and battles would quickly become boring.
So we decided not to make them available at all times. Instead, we want to tie them to the gameplay experience, such as particularly emotional or dramatic moments. I hope you’ll look forward to seeing them.
Final Fantasy VII Revelation will be released on April 7, 2027, for PS5, Xbox Series X/S, PC, and Nintendo Switch 2. Hamaguchi said a playthrough could take more than 100 hours and that players will need multiple playthroughs to experience all the content. Story expansions about Sephiroth and Vincent Valentine will also arrive after release.
