With Grand Theft Auto VI arriving in just over two weeks, Rockstar Games has revealed when players can start downloading the game ahead of its November 19 launch. Given the substantial file size, getting an early start may be worthwhile.

Preloading begins on Xbox Series X/S at 12 a.m. GMT on Tuesday, November 10—that’s 4 p.m. Pacific and 7 p.m. Eastern on November 9. On PlayStation 5, preloading starts at midnight on November 10 in each player’s local time zone.

Rockstar is not releasing the game on physical discs, but boxed editions containing a download code will be available at retail. According to the studio, those code-in-box versions for both consoles should begin arriving at retailers on November 12.

How Much Storage Does GTA VI Require?

The preload requires 212 GB of storage, so players should check that they have enough free space before downloading. Rockstar has provided more information in its preload FAQ.

Rockstar also plans to offer a printable GTA VI cover art poster and a map of Leonida as free digital downloads on the game’s official website beginning November 19.

A double-sided physical version of the poster will follow shortly after launch through the Rockstar Store. It will cost $0.99 on its own or be included free with any other store purchase.

Grand Theft Auto VI launches November 19 on PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X/S.
