The Elder Scrolls VI Officially Reveals Its Subtitle: Sentinel

Bethesda has revealed the official subtitle for its next Elder Scrolls game: The Elder Scrolls VI: Sentinel. Like Morrowind, Oblivion, and Skyrim before it, the game may soon be known simply by its subtitle.
Bethesda shared the announcement video across its social media channels. Alongside the title and music, the video presents a passage attributed to Yazar, Moth Priest to High Queen Iradne of Hammerfell, in 4E 206:
“The scroll offered only a shimmer, a veil thinly lifted to my eyes. A future lost. A victory undone. Sands of time scattered by fate.”
According to the Elder Scrolls Wiki, Sentinel is one of Hammerfell’s nine major kingdoms and serves as the capital of both the Alik’r Desert and its Myrkwasa region. The name suggests that desert landscapes could feature prominently in the game, although its setting has not been fully detailed.
The subtitle follows the series’ tradition of drawing names from locations within the Elder Scrolls universe. Oblivion is something of an exception, though its name still refers to a realm in that world.
Bethesda has not announced a release date for The Elder Scrolls VI: Sentinel. The game was originally unveiled at E3 2018.
