Brain Seal Ltd has announced Dominus Gladiatus, a gladiator management simulator set in ancient Rome. The studio plans to release the game in 2026 on Steam and PlayStation Store.

The player becomes a Dominus, the head of a ludus. The job starts before the arena: recruit fighters at the market, train their skills, watch morale and fatigue, treat injuries and choose equipment before each fight.

Battles include duels and team fights. Once the gates open, gladiators fight on their own, so the result depends on the preparation made earlier. Crowd favour also matters, because the audience can influence whether a fighter lives or dies after the match.

The management layer is built around difficult choices. A promising recruit may need time, money and careful training. Another fighter can be useful for a single tournament, but may not survive a long season. Dominus Gladiatus uses that pressure to turn the ludus into more than a simple roster screen.

  • Gladiator school management: recruit fighters, train skills and build a stable ludus across a championship season.
  • Arena preparation: select equipment and send gladiators into duels or team battles.
  • Human risks: morale, fatigue, injuries and discipline affect performance.
  • Rival schools: compete with other Domini for status and survival.
  • Crowd reaction: victory alone may not be enough if the audience turns against a fighter.

Brain Seal Ltd is an independent UK studio founded by Argi Baltzi in 2007. The team is known for Dark Quest and Story of a Gladiator. Dominus Gladiatus will support 16 interface languages, with full English audio and subtitles.
