Diablo 4 Developers Discuss the ARPG’s Future — Tackling RMT, a New Mode, and Diablo 3‑Style Endgame Content
Developers are planning updates to the skill trees and more.
Raxxanterax recently posted a YouTube interview with the Diablo 4 development team in which they outlined several upcoming plans.
The developers are taking measures to address RMT — players who provide in‑game services to others or sell items for real money.
One potential countermeasure is a dedicated Solo Self-Found mode; it’s planned for a future update, but no firm release date has been given.
New endgame content is also in the works — a ranked “Tower” mode. While it may bring to mind Diablo 3’s Greater Rifts, it’s intended to introduce new features and challenges.
The team has heard feedback that the skill trees feel restrictive. Changes to the trees for every class are underway, though those revisions won’t arrive immediately.
