Developers of Warhammer 40,000: Dawn of War release turn‑based strategy on Steam — Earth vs Mars receives positive reviews
The developers opted to experiment.
Recently, Relic Entertainment — renowned for Warhammer 40,000: Dawn of War — introduced Earth vs Mars on Steam.
It launched under the “Relic Labs” label — a brand intended for titles that depart from the large-scale strategy games the studio typically produces:
[these games] assemble small teams with shorter development cycles, aimed at experimenting with new strategic mechanics, crafting fresh and engaging worlds, and introducing players to them as quickly as possible
Earth vs Mars is a turn-based strategy in which Earth’s forces confront a Martian invasion. The secret weapon, the Splice-O-Tron, enables the fusion of volunteer humans with native creatures to create powerful hybrid supersoldiers that fight alongside Earth’s regular troops.
Early reviews for Earth vs Mars on Steam are “positive”, with an 87% rating.
