Polyarc Games, the studio behind the acclaimed Moss VR series, has shut down after 12 years of operation, arriving just two months after the multiplatform release of Moss: The Forgotten Relic.

Developer Polyarc Games, known for creating the Moss series for PSVR, has ceased operations after 12 years. The studio closed down only two months after releasing Moss: The Forgotten Relic across all platforms.

Recent months proved difficult for the team, as the studio experienced a wave of layoffs. In July, two games in the Moss series were combined into Moss: The Forgotten Relic and launched on all available platforms, including non-VR versions.

Polyarc Games announced its closure on LinkedIn. The developers did not disclose the reasons behind the decision. An industry source points to bankruptcy caused by a lack of funds for their next game and the absence of a new investor as the most likely scenario.

Polyarc Games operated for 12 years and gained recognition for the Moss games created for virtual reality.
