Dead Space “Frozen,” EA Employees Hope to Sell the Franchise — Rumor

In the latest episode of the Insider Gaming Weekly podcast, host Mike Show reported that, according to his sources, internal EA communications suggest Dead Space has been put on hold.

My sources say Dead Space is “frozen,” and under the current leadership the company has no plans to restart the series.

Although EA has not officially confirmed this, Show’s account aligns with the company’s decision to reassign the remake’s leads and several Motive Studio staff to Criterion, DICE and Ripple Effect to contribute to Battlefield 6.

Show also mentioned that some members of the Dead Space team are hopeful a future owner might consider putting the franchise up for sale.

Co-host Tom Henderson reminded listeners that franchise co-creator Glen Schofield previously attempted to push for Dead Space 4 but was unsuccessful. He added that even if a buyer emerged, developing a new entry would require substantial investment beyond the acquisition cost.

Could a Dead Space release realistically sell between 12 and 15 million copies?
