British actress Daisy Ridley (Star Wars) will headline the suspense film Good Samaritan (literally, “Good Soul”), Variety reports.
Behind the camera is French filmmaker Pierre Morel, best known for Taken. The screenplay was written by Matthew Ian Cirulnick, who penned Rambo: Last Blood.
The story follows Dr. Rosalind Carver (Ridley), who, with her husband, rescues an injured man off the coast of Indonesia. A few hours later their yacht disappears and the heroine’s husband is taken by pirates. Rosalind’s only hope is private military contractor Sean Fuller, a man whose motives are as inscrutable as his past.
No release date has been announced. Ridley recently appeared in the thrillers We Bury the Dead and Cleaner (pictured).
