Classic 1990s Sailor Moon Moon Stick Toy Returns With New Release

Comment Views: 10

The Moon Stick stands out as one of the most recognizable wands in the Sailor Moon franchise. Over the decades, Bandai has recreated the item across several toy lines for children and adult collectors. Tamashii Nations, a brand under Bandai, is reviving the original 1992 Moon Stick toy with a fresh release inspired by the 1990s Sailor Moon anime.

Bandai has produced various versions of the wand over the years. In 2014, the manufacturer launched a life-size replica under the Bandai Proplica banner, later reissuing that model in 2024 to celebrate its tenth anniversary. Decades before the Proplica line debuted, fans played with the original Tamashii Nations release during the franchise’s initial run.

The 1992 toy lights up and plays a jingle whenever someone presses the star button. The upcoming version arrives through the Tamashii Nations Resparkle collection and is expected to retain those signature features. Bandai will showcase the Resparkle Moon Stick at the Tokyo Toy Show 2026 on August 29 and August 30.

Fan reaction has been mixed. While some collectors welcome the return of the vintage design, many expressed a preference for Bandai to focus on expanding the Proplica collection. Although official promotional channels suggest the wand can serve as a cosplay accessory, the product remains a toy rather than an elaborate display replica.
