Clair Obscur: Expedition 33 receives surprise one-year anniversary update

Clair Obscur: Expedition 33 celebrates its first anniversary this Friday, and the team at Sandfall Interactive is marking the milestone in style. To honor the occasion, the developers have released a festive update for their celebrated turn-based RPG, introducing a collection of commemorative cosmetics for the cast.

All six playable characters have received exclusive “1st Anniversary” hairstyles. Players can track down Gustave’s fresh look at the Gestral Merchant near the Stone Wave Cliffs, while the remaining hairstyles for the rest of the crew are available via the Gestral Merchant located near Grosse Tête on the overworld map. Along with these aesthetic additions, the patch addresses a handful of lingering technical issues.

Sandfall Interactive also shared a massive sales milestone: the title has officially surpassed 8 million copies sold during its debut year. “Thank you so much to every single person who has played, created fan art, shared, streamed, discussed, and supported this game!” the studio shared via X. This marks a significant jump from the 5 million copies reported back in October.

For those who haven’t yet joined the 8 million players adventuring through the world of Clair Obscur: Expedition 33, there has never been a better opportunity to jump in. The game is currently available on Steam with a 20% discount, bringing the price down to $39.99 through April 30.
