Final Fantasy VII Revelation to Connect Remakes with Advent Children and Spin-offs
Naoki Hamaguchi has confirmed that the final installment of the remake trilogy, Final Fantasy VII Revelation, will incorporate connections to the entire universe of the series.
Final Fantasy VII Revelation director Naoki Hamaguchi confirmed that the final part of the remakes will tie into other works in the FFVII universe, including Advent Children, Dirge of Cerberus, and Crisis Core.
I see a lot of discussions like this. Many people ask after an interview with me and Kitase-san: “Will the ending connect to Advent Children?”
I don’t want to sit here and say it connects to this or that. But obviously, there are many other works in the universe of the number seven. We are talking about Advent Children, Dirge of Cerberus, Crisis Core. And we want to include all of that and make sure we miss nothing.
And then, once all of that is in place, we will address the ending. And the question will be what ending we arrive at in Revelation while maintaining these connections. I hope players will be interested to find out the answer.
The remakes have already introduced characters from other projects in the series, and the events of Rebirth hint at a connection to Crisis Core. Meanwhile, Advent Children and Dirge of Cerberus take place after the original FFVII, which could lead to further story changes.
Final Fantasy VII Revelation will be released next spring on Xbox Series X/S, PS5, PC, and Nintendo Switch 2. A new showing will take place on August 25 at Gamescom Opening Night Live.
