CDPR Seemingly Reveals Price and New Love Interest for The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt — Songs of the Past

Contest rules and demo details have provided early clues about the pricing and romance options for the upcoming expansion to The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt.

At the end of August, CD Projekt RED revealed the expansion The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt — Songs of the Past. An estimated price range for the new content surfaced shortly after.

Players spotted the potential pricing in the rules of a contest hosted by the company around Gamescom. Winners are set to receive a digital copy of the expansion alongside a DLC-themed bag. The rules list the total estimated prize value at €40. Because the bag is unlikely to account for most of that value, the Songs of the Past expansion could be priced at around €25 to €35.

A Eurogamer journalist also noted signs of a potential new romance for Geralt. In the expansion demo, the protagonist accompanies a character named Lilla during a mission, where prompts like “hug her” appear at certain points.

The journalist asked the CEO of Fool’s Theory, the studio assisting CD Projekt RED with the expansion: “What I saw in the demo, is that a romance option with Lilla?” The executive responded with “Ummm…” while everyone in the room chuckled nervously. The CEO then added: “We want players to discover everything for themselves. We don’t want to spoil anything.” Many onlookers interpreted the reaction as an informal confirmation of a romantic storyline involving Lilla.

The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt — Songs of the Past can be added to wishlists on Steam. The developers have not set a specific release date, though the current launch window is targeted for 2027.
