CDPR Praises Cyberpunk 2077 Fan for Spotting Canonical Puddle in Edgerunners Anime
Eagle-eyed fans analyzing the newly released teaser trailer for the anime series Cyberpunk: Edgerunners Season 2 have already managed to pinpoint familiar in-game locations from Cyberpunk 2077.
Geolocating the opening scene proved straightforward thanks to the distinctive surroundings reflected in the water as a character’s hand drops into a puddle at the very beginning of the clip.
User DeceptiousPhil spotted the detail, noting that players can find this exact puddle in Cyberpunk 2077 directly in front of the Afterlife club.
CD Projekt RED acknowledged the discovery and commended the fan: “You know Night City like the back of your hand, choomba.”
Other viewers turned their attention to scenes depicting Relic biochips, sparking a community theory that multiple human consciousnesses, or engrams, might be stored on them. Representatives from CD Projekt RED have not yet commented on that speculation.
Cyberpunk: Edgerunners 2 is scheduled to premiere on October 20, 2026.
