State of Play Japan announced a PlayStation 5 edition of the side‑scrolling roguelike BlazBlue Entropy Effect. Titled BlazBlue Entropy Effect X, the PS5 port is scheduled to launch on February 12, 2026. The original title debuted as a PC exclusive in February 2024.

BlazBlue Entropy Effect X presents a fresh narrative that once again features Naoto Kurogane. The game centers on a protagonist code‑named Ace, who plunges into an enigmatic realm known as “the Lab” and navigates the Sea of Possibility in search of the fragmented keys called the “Shards of Possibility.” As Ace descends deeper, personal memories and hidden truths about the world’s unraveling and the research behind it begin to surface.

In a collapsing world, a small team of researchers races to avert disaster under the leadership of Dr. Mercurius. To stop global ruin, the protagonist dives into a metaphysical sea in pursuit of the Shards of Possibility — an odyssey that floods the mind with memories and slowly reveals the true nature of the crisis and the experiments that caused it.

Gameplay blends rapid, combo‑driven action with roguelike progression. Players control Ace and can recruit or switch between a roster of 14 playable characters drawn from the BlazBlue universe. Each fighter brings unique abilities and combo mechanics inspired by the mainline series, and the game lets characters inherit one another’s playstyles so you can forge hybrid approaches and tailor combat to your preferences.
