Benelux Rework Project: Liège

Planning a trip through Belgium? Liège is set to become a must-visit destination once the Benelux Rework for Euro Truck Simulator 2 reaches the finish line. In today’s showcase, we’re highlighting the incredible transformation of this historic city.

Liège City View

Situated along the banks of the Meuse River in eastern Belgium—just a short distance from the German and Dutch borders—Liège is a vibrant metropolis with a legacy spanning over a millennium. As the cultural heartbeat of the Wallonia region, the city is home to numerous breathtaking historical sites. Often referred to as “The Fervent City,” its growth was historically driven by the coal and steel industries. While those heavy industrial roots have largely transitioned into the past, Liège remains a pivotal economic and logistical hub for the province.

Drivers approaching via the E25 and transitioning south onto the A25 will follow the Meuse River toward the industrial landscape of Monsin Island. This zone features a detailed riverport depot and delivery opportunities at a signature beverage production plant. We have recreated this facility to mirror its real-world counterpart, serving as a prominent landmark alongside a nearby office complex and a hydroelectric power station.

Traveling west along the E25 leads to the massive E25–E42–E40 interchange, which offers a sweeping view of the city’s skyline and its distinctive high-rises. From this vantage point, truckers can spot several of Liège’s most iconic architectural achievements, including the avant-garde Liège-Guillemins railway station, the Basilique de Cointe, and the Interallied Memorial of Cointe standing watch over the city.

To deepen the sense of immersion, our map designers have integrated authentic local details, such as a riverside waste recycling complex, the soaring pillar of the De Wandre Bridge on the horizon, and the Mémorial Albert Ier located at the tip of Monsin Island.

That concludes our preview of the reworked Liège! We hope you enjoyed this look at what’s coming to Belgium. To stay informed on the latest project developments, be sure to follow us on X/Twitter, Facebook, BlueSky, YouTube, and Instagram, or subscribe to our newsletter. Safe travels!
