Battlefield Studios has pulled back the curtain on the 2026 content roadmap, outlining a series of major updates for both Battlefield 6 and the standalone free-to-play battle royale experience, Redsec. The upcoming schedule focuses on expanding the game’s scope with massive new battlegrounds and essential player-requested features.
Starting in May, Season 3 will introduce “Railway to Golmund,” an expansive reimagining of the iconic Battlefield 4 map, set in the aftermath of the main campaign in Tajikistan. This update represents the largest map in the game to date. Later in the season, players can expect the return of “Cairo Bazaar,” a modernized take on the classic Battlefield 3 map. Additionally, Redsec will officially integrate a dedicated ranked competitive mode.
The summer season, Season 4, shifts the focus to high-stakes Naval Warfare. The headline addition is “Tsuru Reef,” a sprawling environment designed to bridge the gap between air and sea combat. It promises a dynamic wave system, dedicated naval weaponry, and massive aircraft carriers. Fans of the franchise will also be pleased to see the return of the legendary “Wake Island” map during this period.
As the year draws to a close, Season 5 will debut an entirely new location never before seen in the franchise. To round out the year, the developers are planning a “holiday jackpot,” which will add three additional maps to the game’s roster.

Beyond content drops, the development team has committed to significant quality-of-life enhancements, including the implementation of community-demanded features like server browsers, spectator mode, and proximity voice chat. The competitive circuit is also set to expand with the launch of the Open and Elite tournament series.
This roadmap arrives during a transitional period for the studio. Following the record-breaking success of Battlefield 6, the team faced significant challenges, including the tragic loss of series head Vince Zampella and recent internal restructuring. These developments coincide with the ongoing acquisition of Electronic Arts by a private investment consortium.
