Bandai Namco Removes Denuvo from Code Vein II Seven Months After Launch

There are no more issues with DRM protection.

Code Vein II was released on consoles and PC in early 2026. Bandai Namco Entertainment protected the PC version of the game with the infamous Denuvo anti-tamper technology, and some players blamed performance issues specifically on this DRM solution.

However, an update for Code Vein II was released in early September, and users noticed that Bandai Namco Entertainment itself decided to remove Denuvo from the game. Afterward, only the standard DRM remained, which hackers quickly bypassed so that the game was leaked online.

Overall user reviews for Code Vein II on PC in Steam remain mixed, holding a 65% rating after 7,000 reviews, but the situation is shifting as recent reviews are mostly positive.
