“Baby Reindeer” Star to Lead New Netflix Thriller
Jessica Gunning, who rose to prominence following her breakout performance in *Baby Reindeer*, has joined the ensemble cast of the upcoming Netflix series *Feral*. This dark comedic thriller is based on Shirley Conran’s 1987 novel of the same name, with Gunning set to portray one of the four lead characters.
The narrative follows four disparate women whose husbands—all high-ranking executives in the mining industry—are suddenly abducted. Thrust into a perilous situation, the women must band together to survive on a treacherous tropical island, setting aside their personal grievances, deep-seated fears, and individual ambitions to stay alive.
Gunning will embody the role of Annie, a composed and devoted wife who long ago sidelined her own aspirations to raise her four sons. Her husband, Duncan, is a domineering figure accustomed to wielding total control over his household.
The series was created by Jude Mack, with Emma Freeman (*Interview with the Vampire*) attached to direct. Production is spearheaded by Oscar-nominated producer Liza Marshall (*Hamnet*) and Laurie Borg (*Industry*).
