Patrice Désilets and the creative minds at Panache Studios have finally pulled back the curtain on their ambitious sophomore project, 1666: Amsterdam. This atmospheric action title invites players to step into the boots of a witch navigating the shadowy, historical streets of the Dutch capital.

Players assume the role of Noa Brooklyn, a “Collector”—a specialized hunter tasked with rooting out supernatural threats in an Amsterdam overrun by ancient, malevolent entities known as The Originals. Having amassed centuries of corrupt power, these beings blend seamlessly into human society, masquerading as ordinary citizens. To reclaim the city, Noa must rely on her arcane abilities, keen intuition, and a unique set of magical maneuvers to expose and eradicate them.

The gameplay loop promises a mix of investigation and supernatural combat, but Noa won’t be tackling this dark conspiracy alone. In a surprising temporal twist, she is aided by Aaron, an individual from 1999 who finds himself thrust back through time, unexpectedly occupying the body of a black cat. Players will be able to utilize this feline perspective to navigate the open world, adding an intriguing layer of stealth and exploration to the mission.

During the Summer Game Fest showcase, Désilets confirmed that 1666: Amsterdam is slated for an Early Access release later this year. Eager fans can dive into the atmosphere immediately by downloading the free playable prologue, which is available now on Steam and the Epic Games Store.
