Xbox Head Says Microsoft Will Not Sell Gaming Division
Asha Sharma does not rule out new operating models and strategies, but within Microsoft.
Xbox head Asha Sharma addressed rumors about a potential sale or spinoff of Microsoft’s gaming business in an interview with The New York Times. Such speculation has been discussed particularly actively in recent months against the backdrop of massive restructuring, layoffs, closures, and the transfer of studios to other company departments.

Sharma gave a definitive answer to this question: “Xbox is not for sale.” She added that Microsoft intends to do everything necessary for the long-term success of the division, including finding the right partners and the optimal operating model.
Xbox is not for sale. We will do whatever it takes to ensure the company’s success and will look for the right partners, the right operating model, and everything else required to achieve this goal.
