Analysts at Alinea Analytics report that the newest entry in EA’s football franchise opened to outstanding success — with the bulk of players choosing the PlayStation platform.
EA Sports FC 26, released on September 26, 2025, delivered record-breaking sales. In less than two weeks after launch, 10 million copies were purchased across PC, PS5 and Xbox Series X|S — roughly 60% of those copies went to Sony console owners.
This result is striking, yet unsurprising for a series that has dominated the sports-games market for many years.
September proved particularly strong for sports franchises — alongside EA FC 26, NBA 2K26 moved more than 6 million copies, and PlayStation’s sales charts also highlighted titles like Borderlands 4 and Hollow Knight: Silksong.
The September top ten included Silent Hill f at 10th and Dying Light: The Beast at 8th, appearing alongside enduring hits such as Grand Theft Auto V and last year’s EA Sports FC 25.
