Anbernic RG DS Plus Receives DS Upscaling and Shaders in NNDDSS 1.0.2 Update

Owners of the dual-screen portable console RG DS Plus can now download the new version of the NNDDSS emulator from Anbernic. The update adds 2X resolution support for Nintendo DS games, optimization fixes, new shaders, and other important changes.

Anbernic has prepared a gift for owners of the RG DS Plus dual-screen portable console by updating its NNDDSS emulator to version 1.0.2.

The latest version of NNDDSS brings a number of new features and changes, which reportedly include 2X resolution support for Nintendo DS games. This has been one of the most requested features since the release of the RG DS Plus.

Game performance and overall smoothness have been improved, dynamic internal 3D resolution adjustment has been added, a firmware language selection has been introduced to change the display language right during gameplay, and new shaders have been included.

The developers have optimized save and load state functions, as well as the overall user interface. In addition, Anbernic has significantly simplified the update installation process.

Gamers no longer need to completely reflash the stock Linux OS just to get the updated emulator. According to the video above, installing NNDDSS v1.0.2 on the RG DS Plus involves downloading the latest NNDDSS build, extracting it, and transferring the files to a microSD memory card, going to the APP section on the RG DS Plus, selecting TF Card 2, and locating and selecting the emulator update file.

After the installation finishes, users must reboot the RG DS Plus. To use resolution scaling, players need to launch any Nintendo DS game, open the emulator, press the Anbernic button in the lower-left corner, and navigate to Menu > Game Settings > Graphics.

Next, users must go to the Resolution settings, change the scaling from 1X to 2X, and save the changes. Gamers hope that Anbernic will pre-install this version on all future RG DS Plus consoles going on sale.
