Amid bans on Steam and the Epic Games Store, horror “Horses” becomes a bestseller on GOG

Valve and Epic Games declined to carry the title, citing its sexual content and what they described as promotion of violence against animals.

The psychological horror game Horses, set on a horse farm, has topped the sales charts on GOG and Itch.io.

Humble Bundle — which unexpectedly removed the game a few days before its December 2 release — has since relisted it. Platform representatives told reporters that “they noticed a wave of media coverage, temporarily pulled the project for reevaluation, conducted a full review, and concluded that, despite the graphic material, there was nothing that warranted removal.”

The developers describe Horses as “a mysterious first-person horror that blurs the line between reality and the darkest corners of imagination.” The game is set on a farm where naked people wearing horse masks are held and treated like livestock. It was precisely these themes that led to the project’s rejection from Steam and the Epic Games Store.
