Amazon’s New Action Spinoff Dethrones Reacher as No. 1 Streaming Series

Prime Video features an adaptation of Lee Child’s Jack Reacher book series. Across four seasons, with at least two more to come according to Polygon, Reacher has dominated streaming charts and gained more than 200 million viewers. Following the conclusion of season 4, Amazon MGM expanded the franchise with a spinoff series that pushed Alan Ritchson’s show out of the top spot.

Prime Video holds a new streaming hit that has already been greenlit for a second season.

Reacher’s partner claims the streaming crown

Reacher season 4 debuted in mid-August. After the Polygon television series season finale aired on September 16, the spinoff series Neagley premiered. All eight episodes dropped at once, making Neagley the No. 1 show on the platform in the United States, the United Kingdom, and across Europe.

Reacher holds the No. 2 position.

Maria Sten stars as Frances Neagley, a private investigator in Chicago and a former protégé of Jack Reacher in the Army’s 110th Special Investigations Unit. Sten co-starred in the first three seasons of Reacher before leading her own story. After a friend from her past dies in a suspicious accident, she pursues justice and uncovers a menacing evil. Lee Child created the character, but unlike Reacher, the spinoff series is not a direct book adaptation.

Greyston Holt, Matthew Del Negro, Adeline Rudolph, Damon Herriman, and Joel Keller also star in the series.

Neagley season 2 is coming

Amazon MGM confirmed that a second season of the Maria Sten series is coming two weeks after the debut, as reported by Polygon.

Audiences around the world have embraced Frances Neagley as a force all her own. Maria Sten delivers a commanding, layered performance that drives every episode, and Nick Santora and Nicholas Wootton have built a world that is both thrilling and compelling. We are excited to continue this story and explore what’s next for Neagley with our partners at Paramount Television Studios.

Peter Friedlander, head of global television for Amazon MGM Studios, shared this statement in an announcement. Amazon MGM did not announce a release window for season 2. Based on the first season schedule, fans likely will not see new episodes until 2028. With Reacher season 5 expected in 2027, Neagley season 2 will bridge the gap before season 6.
