Alyson Stoner Clarifies “I Have Zero News” About Kingdom Hearts 4 After Fans Mistook Her for Revealing a Spoiler

Because Naminé was previously credited to Brittany Snow in Kingdom Hearts II and to Meaghan Martin in later appearances, some listeners inferred from Stoner’s remark that Naminé might return in Kingdom Hearts 4 — and that Stoner would be providing the voice. That interpretation gained traction online. The suggestion quickly spread.

After the clip went viral, Stoner posted an explanation to their Instagram story (archived on the Kingdom Hearts subreddit) to set the record straight. Stoner emphasized their strong connection to the series, calling Kingdom Hearts “one of the most meaningful experiences I’ve had in the booth,” but made it clear they had no insider information about KH4: “I have zero news of KH4, but I’m just as eager to hear updates! Trust me, I have zero points of information.”

They explained that the “spoiler” comment was a casual, perhaps clumsy, way of saying that many fans don’t realize the range of characters a single actor may voice. Stoner clarified they intended to describe how behind-the-scenes revelations can feel like a surprise for fans, not to imply any breach of confidentiality.

Stoner apologized for the confusion and any unintended speculation, stressing they were not suggesting another game exists nor that they are currently recording roles for one. They added that they would be just as excited for KH4 announcements whether or not they were involved as a voice actor.

To further dispel the idea that she’d revealed any major secret, Stoner noted: “After 25 years of nonstop experience with press interviews, there is 0% chance I would accidentally spill something that massive… if I were under a contract, my lips would be sealed shut.” They also pointed out how even main cast members can learn news through public announcements — citing how Disney informed Phineas & Ferb’s principal cast of the show’s return via press release — and concluded that everyone involved often discovers big news at the same time as the public.

That still left the question of when Stoner might have recorded Naminé, since they were never officially credited. A possible clarification came from a fan on Twitter: Mike Kennedy reported he attended the event and that Stoner told him they had provided a brief, uncredited fill-in line or two in an earlier game — a scenario that aligns with other series instances of actors performing small, uncredited parts.

Square Enix’s Tetsuya Nomura has said Final Fantasy VII Remake Part 3 is “going very smoothly” and that announcement timing is set, and that Kingdom Hearts 4 is also “progressing well.”
