A resourceful Baldur’s Gate 3 player calculated that Larian’s expansive RPG contains more than 236 hours of recorded dialogue. The figure surprised the studio — developers hadn’t been tracking it, and the game’s director admits he might have preferred not to know the total.

<p id="actors-relief">Not having a running time counter was likely a relief for the cast — being told you'd need to record over 14 hours of vocal performance can be intimidating. Jennifer English, who voices Shadowheart, says she would have found the role much harder earlier in her career because of its depth.</p>
<p id="scale-underscores-effort">Still, laying out the scale of the voice work underscores how much care went into Larian's award-winning sequel at every level. Baldur's Gate 3 stands as a generation-defining release and will be revisited for years to come.</p>
